Main changes are:
  • #344 - Remove Exp Limit for Skirmish Maps
  • #345 - Add timer SAIL command
  • #348 - Make OW Ignore MultiDesc*.wri files which have no contents
  • #347 - Weather System
  • #351 - Make OGL Renderer only update the OGL Texture when something has changed
  • #352 - Make Scrolling of the main view independed of FPS and Game Speed
  • #353 - Units pause when alot of units are moving
  • "Simple" versions of Multiplayer Maps
  • Waves random number seed is now considered ASync
  • enablefpscounter can now be used as a parameter for ow_editorOGL.exe and ow_editorDD.exe
  • Remove All Units button in Editor no longer causes crash
  • Added SAIL Command CreateDepot(x,y,dir : integer; basename : string; cans, oil, siberite : integer)
  • Fluent Animation is now forced on

Note: The "Simple" multiplayer maps use common code (The SAIL\Library\ files). The idea is to have a simple basic sail code which works for all maps. This however means that the simple maps only support DM, Team DM and Survival DM. They don't contain any map specific code. The result is that each of the "Simple" versions of the maps should be as stable as each other.

The existing maps remain as they are. The "Simple" varients are extra maps.

Also note that the simple maps MultiDesc files may contain options which are not relevant to that map such as extra oil/siberite locations or apemen when the map doesn't spawn any. There are also only english MultiDesc files for the simple maps.

P.S In one of the previous builds OW was modified so that it used the code.bin file rather than always recompiling the maps when the code.bin wasn't older than the src files. This means that you don't need to provide "Include" files with your mods (So you could have your common code in the SAIL\Libraries\ folder and not include it with your mod).

Dissapointed that never witnessed any snow/rain in OW with the new set of _S maps, nevertheless anxious to see it happen.

A variety of issues to be addressed before this can be made a final patch, these are just from 5 mins worth of using 2.0.5.7:

DirectDraw
  • Main menu background image pixelated
  • Menu, IRC MP Lobby or any screen such as game loading no longer take up the entire screen, instead are centered - looks bad
  • Unable to F6 out of the game to the screen - very convenient feature, working as of 2.0.3.5_DD
  • Help menu still crashes the game (Not a priority fix)

OpenGL
  • Unable to F6 out of the game to the screen - very convenient feature, working as of 2.0.3.5_DD
  • Pink Multiplayer characters ( Ones followed by | )are displayed as standard black, works on DD - could be more to it than just the pink colour
  • Help menu missing on OGL (Is there on DD?) I presume it's been turned off

Congratulations on finally including the tech restrictions on multiplayer.

One final thing I also noticed is that those multiplayer rules are missing from selection on the new _S maps; not that I care, personally I'd have that junk removed from all maps.

Weather won't appear if its not done in the SAIL. Currently no maps use it.

What settings are you using? It should only center if you have the main menu forced to use a resolution other than 800x600 (Alternate Fullscreen uses SameResolution which makes the main menu use the same resolution as the game. OW menu system can not stretch).

If your using SameResolution then its not going to have any effect. If your using Alternate Fullscreen then its already a window and you don't need to use F6 at all, you just hit the windows key and you can get to the desktop since its just a window.

What do you mean by |? It has no effect on colour (At least it shouldn't). What string of characters are you using?

The _S maps are "Simple" maps. So that was removed from them to help them be more simple. Some of the options in the _S maps may not be applicable to all of the _S maps, like Apemen options when the map has none but thats cos they are just using the same multidesc's currently until the settings are finalized.

Standard settings, 1024x768 OW. 1920x1080 Desktop
I've no idea what you've done but DD doesnt render properly. 2.0.3.5 was the last one that rendered properly
Surpringly, OGL is fine; its just DD.
It looks so bad that I wouldn't want this patch released with that issue present, but once again its only DD.

I know this and its been discussed before, however say you have a screen such as 1920x1080 and OW runs in 1024x768 In-game and 800x600 menu. This feature is convenient so much to person such as myself as you can make the game run in a window in top-left corner whilst say, waiting for players to join your game.

Every single hyperlink in the help menu leads to the very last entry in the Help menu (Tech list) rather than to what its supposed to lead to. Keep clicking a hyperlink until OW crashes. I have a log + I've reported it on the bug tracker before.

I've problems making OGL run in a window, when I minimized it or pressed F6 I couldnt restore OW and had to terminate the process, what can I provide to help solve this?

It always did! Eversince I can remember back at 1.09! The nicknames could contain pink characters
Say writing my nickname in a format MostWanted|0|9|5 Outputs-> MostWanted095
This pink nickname is visible when you're in an MP game lobby or in the actual game.

If I ever get a chance to test it I'll confirm whether multidesc has an impact on synchronisation

As i said, Original War DOES NOT stretch its menu. Its not designed to. As such you have to have the main menu resolution higher than 800x600 to see the menu's centered. This is likely due to having Altarnate Fullscreen on. Goto owar.exe, goto configuration and look at whats checked.

If you run the game in english do you get this issue? If not what language are you running the game in?

OGL Always runs in a window. It can't run true fullscreen (Its impossible). F6 does nothing when using OGL.

Looks like its technically working, its just using the exact same colour as the main text (Its setting it to W1 instead of W2).

Can you make for me DediManager that host version 2.0.5.7?
+ if its possible i want run 4 servers at the same time (not 2, and when 1 is used then another one is activated, just all 4 running in the same time)
