This thread is for posting new versions of Balance Mod to download, together with changelog.

Go to last post for the up-to-date version of the mod which we use for testing.


All changelogs are the difference of the particular mod version from the base game.
Version numbers (A.B.C.D) hold following meanings:
A - Incremented when current changes are properly balanced and mod is ready for general audience (sets the rest to zero)
B - a change was added or removed
C - a change was modified
D - bug fix

Explanation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Half track changes and self-propelled bomb changes were made to make self-propelled bombs more usable, which was done to give Arabs something for the late game. Damage was increased only just enough so that fully upgraded self-propelled bomb can on direct hit put fully upgraded morphling with the same driver level into red health.
Changes to russian upgrades were made to help them out in early game.
Teleport delay (length of unit teleporting animation) was shortened to make spontaneous teleportation more useful but works on all kinds of teleportation.

Heavy gun nerfed to level of a normal gun when it comes to dealing with vehicles. Should make players use other weapons more and give more breathing room to medium vehicles.

Morphling is heavy chassis, faster than medium and tough as heavy tracked. Slowing it down to only little faster than medium wheeled speed (with upgrades) should make it more balanced especially on open maps.

Teleport delay (length of unit teleporting animation) was shortened to make spontaneous teleportation more useful but works on all kinds of teleportation.

Self propelled bombs were bit too weak, heavier chassis could easily survive it.

Heavy gun not available for vehicles. Should open players to other options than HG.
Laser nerfed a little so it is not obvious choice over HG.

Morphling is heavy chassis, faster than medium and tough as heavy tracked. Slowing it down to only little faster than medium wheeled speed (with upgrades) and decreasing defense should make it more balanced especially on open maps.
Heavy tracked chassis was too weak compared to russian ones.

Teleport delay (length of unit teleporting animation) was shortened to make spontaneous teleportation more useful but works on all kinds of teleportation.

Explanation
---------------------------------------------
armory/barracks has less defense (barracks has the same as tower) and slower repair rate to encourage more use of towers and lessen the ability to cheaply wall yourself off with barracks and repairing cranes.
Time lapser nerfed a little so that its not instant win for russian when he has them (although the slow down seems moderate to me, thats why the nerf is small).
Heavy gun is now equal to gun in damage, but gun is still cheaper, both should be viable (hg may be better on small maps, guns on more open maps).
Heavy gun was really good against buildings, made them worse so towers have an upper hand when fighting them.
Changed heavy gun upgrade appropriately to keep hg on the same DPS level.
Increased rocket launcher range by a lot to cope with russian barracks which can shoot time lapsing rockets at rocket launchers thus making it harder to outdamage their repairing cranes/engineers. May be a little too much, range bonus of 10 would be enough.

Ar - light hovercraft, weaponless, behaves like hovercraft and requires factory
