My idea is to make SAIL so easy, even a retard (like me! (just KIDDING! :P ))
knows how to make things "happen".
2 lists were you can choose: condition and event
in condition you can for ex. select: if unit "applepie" enters area...
and in event you select for ex.: spawn crate 5 in area "icecream"

if unit "applepie" enters the area, crates would be spawned in area "icecream"
So when you select something, it would create the SAIL code itself...

So it would ease SAIL incredebly!!! Just select the 2 things save it et voila!

I can understand if it would be A LOT of work but I think it would be wurth it! If someone doesn't understand the idea please post it...

Making SAIL code simpler and... stupid. Better learn using SAIL cos this type of "help" would make SAIL code inflexible...

Everything that happens in a OW map is controled via SAIL. The AI's intelegents depends on the mappers abilities. In games like Tiberian Sun for example there isn't rearly much controled by maps except events which are basic but there is a generic AI which will attack the player, etc (Tho its basicaly the same every time). The advantage of OW's method is that you can make the AI do whatever you want. Anything you want to happen you can get. You can make the AI attack the player differently depending on the map, so you can make it more realistic and challenging.

What if you could switch between "free mode" and "easy mode" or something... :?

You should be able to do that with free mode or easy mode (see above)

Again, it would make things a lot easier for every one because it would be a lot faster.

It would take too much work to implement and offer a worse survice. You effectivly would be limited to dumb AI as you couldn't control them well. SAIL isn't hard to learn, there are people in the OW community with no prior programming knowlage who have dabbled with SAIL.

I'm currently the best (:D) SAIL programmer but I've started with no programming knowledge (except HTML and CSS for web pages). REALLY! :P Since that time I've learned to use Pascal and (very simple) C++ (and JavaScript for webpages) but I still need to learn much more. :P

By the way, SAIL as I know isn't a language as I thought, it is a derivation of Delphi. And remember, if there is people who started from the beginning with SAIL, well, don't forget about me.. Remember my idea to make cinematics creation easier? :D

Well, I forgot about PHP. And you don't know JavaScript and Pascal :P
So I'm better. (WHOA!) :D
Anyway, this topic is about SAIL selection :P My opinion is to keep everything as it is now :)

PS: I would really like to learn to use J# language. I heard it's really powerful :)

Good to hear you're so eager to learn :)
OK, if every one says no, than that's how it will be.

BUT! (yes there's a but :) ) can atleast the most used codes be given in a text document?(like spawning crates, set health, spawn unit, etc. ?) :?
So the newbies (yes, like me! :) ) can copy/paste it?

By the way, better give me an map editor :D
