In my oppinion it is 70% possible. This depends on knowledge, interest, intelligence and time. A proper AI would take, minimal, around 1 year to be developed as a relative BETA if these requirements are met, and depending also on the quantity of people working.

This is what I think, lets see what the boss thinks... As he always answers more "precisely".

Note: Yes, the boss is you, Stu.

It would unlikely take a year. Altar already layed down the groundwork when they were working on a skirmish(Where the AI can build a base, tho all the positions of buildings are pre-determined).

This means that they aren't map independent? Is that because it is a lot better for using IDs? (Defined directly in the Unit Editor). If not, then why?

Pre-Determined = Set in Stone. AKA Set Via Sail.

You'd need an AI to doo all sorts of things, attack, defend, recon, expand, collect, build... setting it all through SAIL and predetermining it for each map + position probbaly wouldn't be too hard as a guess but extremely, mind-numbingly boring.

Very repetitive... Yes. Also I wonder if someone is going to accept a "favour" as that for free.

-Original War.

That is the only one... Altar developed SAIL based on the main language that, If I remember correctly, is Delphi.

Altar's skirmish test map's SAIL can be used as a base, it should save a lot of work.

It would be better then to work on a good AI in place of a rusher.

I have cheackt the entire thread and is it possible to realese some sort of
bot for the multiplayer until a skirmish mod would hopefully be realesed.
A know its on old post and its much to ask but from what i could understand
it wasent impossible to make one. it was the difficulty on the bot that was
the problem. Any replie would be helpfull to make an awsome game perfect.

Despite the question is old, I'm going to answer:

Yes, it is possible. But very well trained people must take this endeavor, and as Stu said time ago, it is going to take as minimum as a year to be complete.

it wouldnt be an a.i. but
why dont you give the computer player objects to follow
eg.
build base
scout
attack
defend
research

then let it follow vaibles in between.

can anyone show me how far they have gotten with this.
just following the rule of k.i.s.s. here!!

(keep it simple stupid)
