Night / Winter modes for Multiplayer

I propose a modification to the Multiplayer of OW that would drastically enhance the game experiance for everyone, as the title suggests; Night and Winter modes for OW.
Each, or most multiplayer maps should have options allowing to change between Day/Night and Summer/Winter battles.
This is what would be needed to be done:

Winter style mapping:

    * Editing of the GBI / color.txt files for the map in order to have the environment looking white
    *Swap-out of the trees and any 'green-ish' objects on the maps, trees can be replaced to ones w/o leaves.

Night style mapping:

    *Editing of the GBI / color.txt files for the map in order to have the environment looking dark
    *Reduce vision of units (thou, keep radar ranges identical, not sure how it will work out for Russians [couper advancements to restore vision perhaps ?]).
    *Add glow to the textures of buildings/units (eg. lights for tanks and enhance the light emitted from buildings)


Both modes should be managable, although not sure if OW engine renders textures with alpha channels or has a colour that is set to be transparent. (If alpha channel is present, I'd be able to do the retexturing)
If it is a transparent colour then it would make everything a whole lot more difficult for the night mode.

A workaround for this would be a colour mask over hexes near by to the unit, which would fade to 0 over a distance, eg 7 hex radius. (Illuminated hexes fading to environment aka max transparency).
