Original War 2.0.1.1 HotFix has been released.

  • Bug Fix: Editor does not extract files from patch.owp when creating a new mod (Issue 85)
  • Bug Fix: Invalid Colour Codes can crash OW (OGL) (Issue 88)
  • Bug Fix: HTTPHandler only sends information once and then never again (Issue 89)
  • Bug Fix: Invalid Hint Types set in Custom Maps do not show the fallback image (OGL) (Issue 90)

While the OpenGL Renderer is not 100% complete the game is fully playable. The parts that are missing are: Credits, In-Game Help Screen (Its a manual built into the game) and the Graphs at the end of missions that show a timeline of when units were created/destroyed. The multiplayer map descriptions are missing scrollbars. Everything else should work fine.

The OpenGL Renderer requires a Graphics Card with OpenGL 2.0 support as a minimum. The Same Resolution option may run slow on older hardware such as a GeForce 5.

By default Original War will still use Direct Draw unless you select OpenGL in the launcher's configuration section.

It's great overall, except for one detail I've noticed while testing this new patch.

When I'm trying to change my name in lobby it doesn't process my request. I have my steam name. Even if I change profile for OW I still get my steam name and it doesn't change.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or if anybody else is experiencing this. My friend and I both experience this anyway.

Your Steam name overwrites it. Its Technically working as it was coded (Alot of steam games use the steam name).

No. Original War has always had a skirmish button but it was always hidden via the source code.

I was working on a new main menu but that was in the old branch that didn't have OpenGL and was never compleated. At one stage the skirmish button will be available.

why not update steam version with latest patch ???

i know i can manually update the game but still would be nice to have always latest update without dld patch separately

Because i can't. Only Bohemia has the ability to change stuff on Steam. I do not have access or it would have been done months ago.

Bohemia are very ignorant that they don't even bother to update the game on steam. Many of the players are coming from steam and unfortunately many people who use steam have very limited knowledge in computers.
I think they don't even understand there is a new patch so they just assume nobody plays online when there for a matter of fact are people online every day. I see people running shitty steam versions every day and hosting games nobody of course can see.

And it feels like all Bohemia cares about is making profit from the new games like arma. Why the frack did they buy up Altar and got the game basically for free when they don't care about anything but money ?

then make them give you the right to add patch to steam if they are incompetent or lazy or both to do it themselfs .

i am fan of original war since was released a demo in Level magazin in my country when i was a kid :)
