Set up 1.0.8.0. Runnin' like a champ. Set up the stick and throttle to handle every switch. Heating and cooling are now no longer a problem.

Daddy's gonna get some.

So does that kickstarter help & what did I miss and what's on the ...horizon(audible groans from the internet)

I don't know what Animated PNG's could be used for.

1.0.8.0's main features is the Developer Mode (-devmode) which allows modders to either send lua commands or to re-write lua code while the game is running (Nothing will be saved, but it allows people to see how new lua could would work without having to close the game, edit a file, open the game) and the profiles are now separate between the main game and mods.

In July i was working on the System Editor (Which can not do any editing currently). I haven't done anything to it since then.

P.S if your interested in trying to make a mod, i can put together a modding SDK for the unreleased version.

So LUA doesn't use gifs for animation? I figured it would help smooth edges. As for the modding SDK, get it working perfectly and when it's ready, blare trumpets globally. I've never modded anything so I'd be starting from scratch.

LUA doesn't rearly do anything by its self. LUA is just a scripting language. Basically you can send information from LUA to the game, and execute lua commands from the game. That way information can be passed between both of them. The point of LUA is so that you don't need to hard code everything into the game (Which would mean any time you wanted to modify what happens in a level you would have to re-compile the game).

The game doesn't use any animated gifs. The videos are avi's.

The modding SDK is working perfectly, there is just no System Editor currently. You can make mods using it, you just can't fully edit systems(The system editor basically would just allow you to take a system and add waypoints for ships, move stuff about etc). Most of what happens in a system is governed by the LUA, where a command spawns some ships at a waypoint specified in the level's file.

Y'know...

If someone could give me just an inkling towards the rhyme or reason of these enemy flight patterns I'd be seriously demystified. I stand agog.

They fly like kamikaze boomerangs, programmed to move in a way that a computer would prompt them to as opposed to being flown by a pilot. Seems like when they get behind you, physics goes out the airlock and they move how they want. Just doesn't seem to be a true flight pattern. Would love to see an overall view of a dogfight some time to see the whole pattern.

Thats there tactics. They are meant to try and hit you. The mirk is a thing that wants to gobble up the galaxy. If you look at Tarr Chronicles the friendly AI in some missions don't try and ram the enemy, as they don't want to die. Something thats not alive on the other hand doesn't fear death.

lol, you just got me worried i would have to try and find a weird bug and fix it (Skipping multiple levels shouldn't be possible with the way the game works). Good to know that there isn't any major bugs between levels 4 and 7.

There doesn't seem to be anything that jumps out as being a potential place for an access violation. The memory Address doesn't trace to a line of source code (The Error message does give me an area of code). Looks like a random error.
